Did You Know...
...that garlic coil is not bad when it's baked?
It's best to take it out of the plastic packaging, though, and remove the thick brown casing.
Otherwise, (once the casing has been peeled away and the melted plastic removed) it's kind of tasty all hot and crisped up.
An alternative way to deal with the garlic coil would be to actually keep it in the refrigerator... and to remember that you've left it in the oven with the light on, after taking it from the freezer, to thaw... and to check the oven every time you turn it on to bake something... but it's not too bad baked.
I believe it was in Montreal when I had my first roasted garlic as an appetizer. It was actually very good and not at all as garlicy as I had anticipated.
ReplyDeleteIt is strange how I can eat garlic and get no GI upset - Onions are another matter and even a baked onion would likly have me bending over in pain within a few minutes.
