On Tuesday I did the Kitchen.
I mean, DID.
Turned out all the drawers, shelves and counters.
Rearranged, threw away, sorted, downsized.
I'm very happy with the result.
Then I set my sights on the basement...
The "sewing corner" to be exact.
I started yesterday afternoon.
If I find the basement again before the end of today, I will be mightily surprised.
I've gotten past the "turn out all the drawers" stage, and I must admit, it's a bit overwhelming.
(this is why I'm taking a break from it... to catch my breath and regain my perspective...to remind myself of the reason for the mess... to dangle the carrot of hope before myself- a brighter, more accessible, more streamlined space)
But, just as the dishes, no matter how nicely they're tucked into a sink full of hot, sudsy water, haven't yet learned to wash themselves, so, I can see, the cupboards, no matter how nicely turned out they are, haven't yet begun to sort themselves out...
So I should quit stalling and get back at it.
You go GIRL!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed that you'd take on such a huge job and I'm even more impressed that you could stop for a bit for perspective...
I just get fed up and start piling into empty boxes, out of sight, out of mind.
Did you happen to see the show on H&G called "Neat" ??
They have so many ideas for organizing bits of stuff that's easy to lose.
Check out the TLC website (clean sweep) and link up from there, I think.
I hope to see you emerge before the groundhog does!
