At least the longest day is over.
And although my "Longest Day" didn't involve artillery fire and machine guns... I think there should have been some big pointy sticks and gags.
Good Grief.
I think there are reasons that the Babysitter Course is traditional grade 6 fare.
Reason 1: Grade 7 boys are more interested in doing stupid things to get the attention of the grade 7 girls sitting across the room, than in listening to someone's Mother talking at them from the front of a classroom.
Reason 2: Grade 7 girls are more easily distracted by the stupid doings of grade 7 boys than grade 6 girls are by their male counterparts.
Reason 3: Grade 7 students may just be "in it" for the money. They're not as keen on taking the course as they are on passing the course and beginning the process of milking that particular cash cow.
I'm sure there are more reasons, but I'm just tired. I don't even want to think about grade 7 boys and girls until my own particular grade 7 boy gets home from his Youth event...
At least our longest session is over, and 2 out of 3 guest speakers are done.
Did I mention that I'm tired?
Hormones.
Can't live with them, can't live without them.
Oh yes.
ReplyDeleteGood.
Old.
Hormones.
Well done for keeping going in so many ways.
Ok, next class show up a bit late so every one is in the room, then say when you walk in "it smells like puberty" and then spray every thing in lysol. or fail the class as a whole because of the stupid kids.
ReplyDeleteI was walking today and I came upon a second hand book store advertising english books. I went in and bought "The Idiot" for 2 francs. I'm already into chapter four, and am quite interested. Must be a good translation, as you think the bad ones are terribly tedious.
ReplyDeleteit's a delightful find though...I'm out of english books, and I'd love to buy some, then send them away to someone else. Plus, 2 francs? that's so cheap...that's like, 1.80$ or something.
That's a good one. If you need a place to send them... look no further!
ReplyDeleteThree cheers for Lauralea Hip Hip....
ReplyDeleteYOU have endured the torture! Now, remember those new sitters will need a reference from you, I would encourage you to write them one now while you're still reeling....
Seriously, I am SO glad you stepped up to the plate (drafted, yeah, I know)
Just think, for the rest of your life you can picture those boys playing with dolls. (I would also encourage you to remind them of your knowledge frequently)
