I made myself her favourite Raisin Bran Muffins for breakfast.
We both like them because they're sugar-reduced, full of whole grain goodness and very tasty with peanut butter.
I'm happy for Mildred, that she's gone on to Heaven. From a wheel-chair, brought on by amputations due to complications of diabetes to dancing on streets of gold! From whispering as a result of throat cancer, to singing her heart out in a choir. She always said that was one of the things she was looking forward to about Heaven the most- being able to sing again.
And so she is.
So, in her honour I'll be having bran muffin snacks for the rest of the week.
She has been a blessing to me. An encouragement when I became insulin resistant. A cheerleader and supporter. And when you'd been with Mildred for any amount of time, you knew you'd been loved.
I shall miss her.
Peace to her memory.
This goes to show how out of touch with stuff in Prince Albert I am since I have been living in Saskatoon. R.I.P.
