First check up with the new Doctor this morning.
Things went well, and I think I'll like her- I hope she's around for awhile!
HOWEVER, during the preliminaries...
We're doing the weight & height thing, and the Nurse says...

HOLD IT!!!!
Four foot eight?!
Right. 4' 8 " and a quarter.
Do it again, I said. I can't have lost 2 inches since the last time you did this.
No, 4' 8 1/4"...
The metal measuring stick thing is pressing down too hard on my head, I said... that must be it...
No, still 58 inches...
Wait a minute, the other one says, 58 inches is 4' 10".
Oh! Right, the first one says.
4 feet, 10 1/4 inches.
Still far too short for the weight, but every inch counts, and at this stage of the game I'll take every one I can get.
Why is it always the height factor that shrinks?
