Five Pounds Of Peppernuts Sliced, Baked And Stored

Four batches of shortbread pinwheels mixed, rolled and chilling.

Two boxes of Jell-O, stirred and setting.

Three loads of laundry washed, dried, ironed and put away.

Two breakfasts, two lunches and three suppers made and cleaned up.

Ten days worth of groceries pushed, purchased, carried, and pantried.

One Christmas Concert, enjoyed and applauded.

No wonder I'm tired.

  1. Ooo, good for you for doing all that! Especially the peppernuts. I made them the last two years but just didn't feel up to spending a weekend on them this year. I opted for gingersnaps instead :)

    Merry Christmas!

  2. Peppernuts: hard, little, round spice cookies made from a syrup based batter which has been chilled, then rolled into strips and frozen. The frozen strips are sliced and baked. Old family recipe.

  3. Sounds like a lot of work for cookies. You could make icebox cookies. What is so nutty about them?
