And So It Begins

Our first Grass Widow/ Half Orphan week out here in the field.

I have a feeling it's going to be far too busy to be lonely without Randall while he's in Chicago.

I already have a lunch date to motivate me back from the airport; (not looking forward to driving back by myself...) and I have a play date all day Tuesday.

: )

Micah has no school Thursday and Friday, so we get to sleep in the last two days of the week. Always a joy!

I'll probably take The Boy to Wetaskiwin on Friday, and we can bum around a bit, have supper out and go to the airport to get Randall in the evening.

That leaves Wednesday and Thursday... and I had half formed thoughts about going to Camrose for some grocery shopping, so really, I'll only have one day of aloneness.

Maybe I'll plan for nothing on Wednesday, and then on Thursday, Micah can come with me for groceries. It's nice to have someone along who can get all the top shelf things that I can't reach. That's a risk, though, as when he's along I always buy more than I planned.

All in all, not a bad first week alone to anticipate.

And in 2 weeks we have company coming!

In two batches.

The first group of friends will start their "Winter Break" week by heading over to our field for the weekend, and the second group of friends will come the following weekend to end their week off.

Lots to look forward to.

Lots to plan.

Lots of cinnamon buns to make.

  1. Hooray for cinnamon buns!

It occurred to me that deciding to renovate our bedroom while Marc's away was a bit much to do -- at least yesterday with the final things on the room needing to be done and packing and Marc finishing his sermon.

But it'll be nice to be at my parents' house for a few days. Otherwise, like I told Phil this morning, Marc would have NO kids when he got back. They sure can be little monkeys!

Hope you have a nice week.

  2. We were expecting to be at Midwinter this year and we were hoping to meet Randall there. But our presence was not requested due to budget. But I feel for your week alone. Funny though, life is so full here that a couple of days on my own sounds dreamy.

  3. One day alone might be good. I like that once in awhile. I usually put on my old sweats and clean the house!! Then after my chores are done I watch the dumbest shows possible, like Orange County Wives. I can't believe people live like that and I would NEVER let my kids catch me watching them!
Oh and I eat dinner whenever I want!
