I've been going through my archived posts,
One at a time...
To re-"tag" them.
I've been shooting them all into the "Life" category forever.
There's been the odd time I've thought of something I know I've written, and would like to re-read, but the thought of going through all 980+ posts to try to find it is, to say the least, rather daunting.
So, I've been enjoying reading through the archives.
This morning I came across a post that particularly made me smile, (in the light of the recent purchase and subsequent watching of "Mama Mia")
I give you, (one of) the Snow Shovel Blues:
Loosely based on ABBA's "Dancing Queen":
You can shift, you can drive, You’re a Canadian Guy
See that hole, where you’ve been, dig out the van again.
Friday night and the street-lights glow
Looking out at the swirling snow
All it takes is good snow tires, And a couple of beer
It’s just ice, you can steer.
You’re a middle aged, macho guy
Night is cold and the snowbank’s high
With a bit of rock music, radio works fine
Wearing your fleece lined pants
And when you take the chance…
You are like Steve McQueen, lean and mean, thirty & seventeen
Steve McQueen?! Feel the heat from the Ab-sor-biiiine…(jr.)
You can shift, you can drive, You’re a Canadian Guy
See that hole, where you’ve been, dig out the van again.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming...
