This time last week we were collecting our luggage after an uneventfull passage through customs at Gatwick airport.
Today, in just under three hours, we will, hopefully, be comfortably ensconced in south bound train seats on our way toward the second half of our holiday.
Our week in Kendal has been very good. There's been a good balance of day tripping drives and leisurely ambles around the town here. I've crossed a few titles off my "Books to Look For In England" list and squirrelled away several more unsought treasures.
I'm looking forward to a weekend in Somerton, near Oxford, and then a few days in London.
Hard to believe that the trip is half over.
Ah, well.
Before we can catch the 10:42 to Wolverhampton (where we have 10 minutes to change to the Banbury train, if I remember correctly) I have to shower, breakfast, gather the shirts from various banisters and radiators, and finish packing the now expanded suitcase.
...don't forget the cheese in the larder...
Glad you're having a good time - pics look good!
