I just zipped up the back pack and closed and weighed the suitcase.
It seriously looks like we've packed for eight days, for the two of us, using one suitcase that weighs 2 kg less than the 20 kg limit.
As soon as Himself gives the final Okay to a couple of last minute shirts I added for him, we'll be as ready as we can be.
There IS that niggling thought at the back of my head that promises I've forgotten at least one very important thing, but at this point I don't care too much. I think that's why the packing is so light this time around. If we find we've forgotten something, we'll either buy it there or make do without.
The best part of going with one suitcase, (with the 2 inch extension still available) is that we have a 20 kg grace weight for coming home. There's a duffle bag under the suitcase lining... and we're only going with half of our allowable baggage... and there are Oxfam and used book stores in the offing...
Maybe I am getting a little excited.
Cell phone is being left at home, but I'm bringing the Ipod, so if there's free wifi anywhere in the Midlands or Oxfordshire or London I'll be checking my email and Scrabble games.
Otherwise, fare thee well my friends, and I'll plan to do the same.
Tonight, The Field.
Tomorrow, The United Kingdom.
I don't think I could pack as well! Go well, friend, and have a wonderful vacation.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you! I know we were just there, but it really makes me miss it and appreciate our trip all the more.
ReplyDelete(And one of the favourite thing about our trip was the one suitcase we brought for th 14 days!) :)
Don't forget to hug the Ertls for us.
Godspeed. Can't wait to see the pictures and read the commentary.
