So there's a chance that if it doesn't kill me it will make me stronger...
The treadmill, I mean.
I think I've pretty much settled into a routine; I walk two miles in the morning after breakfast, and then one more mile in the evening before bed.
If I have the mileage as a goal, it allows me to walk as slow... or as fast... as I want to, and am able.
Three miles seems like a respectable distance to aim for, and splitting it up means the morning walk doesn't take ALL morning, and the evening walk isn't an overwhelming prospect.
I can pretty much do two miles at 3 miles/hour before my hernia starts to give me too much grief; and if it's getting bad I can lower the speed and just take longer to do it. Likewise, if I'm just tired of walking and want to get it over with, I can kick up the speed and be done sooner.
It's been a little hard this week, though. I think general fatigue and shorter nights have been having an affect. At least I am stubborn enough to do the distance every day, even if it's done in two parts.
One of these days it will start to make a noticeable difference.
One of these days...
You are my hero.
