Actually Micah made the fire. Thomas may have helped.
We had a family wiener roast tonight.
It took a few minutes to figure out when we last had a family wiener roast, but I think we decided it was 2 years ago when Johanna was just home from Switzerland and Nate had come up to help her move to Vancouver.
Crazy.
Tonight was fun.
Even if some people had charcoal outside-cold inside wieners in their hot dogs.
And the s’mores were good, even if some of us shouldn’t have had any.
The lamp from the garage standing in the middle of the picnic table was a nice touch.
It was a good thing to be able to do before winter, while the College kids are home. They nearly brought the party down when they realized that they only have 3 more days until they head back.
But we won’t think about that today.
Let’s practice living in the moment.
Like the Good Book says- “Don’t worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will bring it’s own worries”.
Now there’s a happy thought to end the day…

I think you’ve inspired me to have a wiener roast…maybe our kids will come from the city???
One can always hope…with A. off to BC, someone has to come and enjoy it with us.

My Sara is home for a day today. It is so good when they come back. We had lunch together at the church – Country Fair day.
